2018-2019 Symphonic Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition

Congratulations to our very own PPC student, Jacob Bernat, for being chosen as one of the winners of the 2018-2019 Symphonic Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition!! He will be performing Paul Creston’s Concerto for Saxophone and Orchestra with the Penn State Symphonic Wind Ensemble next semester. We are so proud to have such an amazing musician in our studio!

Symphonic Wind Ensemble Performance Thursday, April 26th, 2018

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble under the direction on Professor Dennis Glocke put on another spectacular performance to round out the concert series for this academic year! Congratulations to all of the instrumentalists, and a special acknowledgment goes out to Noah Brenemen for his breath-taking oboe concerto performance!

New CD Released

Professor of Saxophone, Dr. David Stambler, recently released a CD with the acclaimed saxophone ensemble Capitol Quartet, entitled “Balance”.                 UPDATE - 2016: The CD includes Carter Pann's "THE MECHANICS: Six from he Shop Floor",  commissioned and premiered by Capitol Quartet that was named a finalist for the 2016 PULITZER PRIZE in Music.  Read the review on Audiophile Audition
